I trained as a medical secretary at St. Paul Community College, St. Paul, Minnesota, and worked in a medical office setting for approximately five years. I then moved into the business world as an executive secretary before receiving my B.S. degree in nursing from St. Mary's College, Minneapolis, Minnesota. As a registered nurse, I worked in an operating room for over twenty years before being forced into retirement due to medical disability. During my working career, I was a busy wife and mother of three children, while at the same time being very active in our church. I was a soloist in our church choir, a lector, and taught catechism to the elementary school students at our neighborhood parish. I also served as a Girl Scout leader and volunteered at a local nursing home.
I now spend my days doing the activities that I love so well: quilting, arts and crafts, reading, and most of all, writing. I have an avid interest in history, health, and spirituality, but am interested in a wide range of topics. I am also a member in good standing at Writing.Com, an online community for writers.
